Bharat Overseas Bank is one of the oldest foreign banks to operate in Thailand. It has a unique and long history tracing its origin in Thailand. Established as a branch of Indian Overseas Bank in 1949, pursuant to a policy of the Thai Government, it was promoted by seven eminent banks of India and took over the operations of the Indian Overseas Bank in 1973.
