Bharat Overseas Bank, a fast growing Chennai-based Indian private sector bank has a unique history behind it.

Established to take over from Indian Overseas Bank's Bangkok branch, in Thailand in 1973, it is the only private bank permitted by the Reserve Bank of India to have a branch outside India. Bharat Overseas Bank has been promoted by seven banks, and is the only bank to represent India in Thailand, serving the Indian ethnic business community for over 25 years.
